The Creation Museum: Part 1

This weekend we went to the Creation Museum with our sunday school group. The trip was full of bus rides, laughing, praising, and most of all enjoying. We traveled to Cincinatti, Ohio, which was a seven hour trip. We stopped at Cracker Barrel, all of 54 of us (we were out in thirty minutes), and watched lots of movies. Here are some photos:

Benjamin didn't even think before he grabbed the snake from the kind gentlement and help it. He didn't quite enjoy it, but no fear: Benjamin is here. Eventually, he touched the snakes nose, but luckily for us, it didn't bite.

This boy is such a thinker, he could of stared at the fish for ours, but then again so could our kitty. The only real animals through the exhibit were fish, so Ben enjoyed.

This was the largest dino in the whole museum. When Benjamin saw this, his mouth dropped open. I can't remember which kind of dinosaur this is, but it was HUGE.

This was a fake dino outside the museum.

Benjamin and Brooke posing for the camera, as usual. They had a great time overall. I definetly recommend the Creation Museum to anyone who is willing to try it. The museum has a Planetarium and live animals, great for the whole family.

Part 2 of this trip will be shown on Brooke's blog, the link is right here: http://brookesthroughts101.blogspot.com

Thanks again!

Papa's 75th Birthday

My Most Honorable Grandfather turned 75 on August first. I understand I'm a little late, my apologies. It was a very simple get together that consisted of dinner and a few presents. It was Papa's favorite meal, ham, rolls, macaroni, etc. He recieved 6 books from Uncle Jim, cards from Grandmother and Jack and Dawn, and $10 from Brooke. Oh! And also a card from Brettie-Boo! What a stud-muffin.
Oh Daddy Boy.

Brettie-Boo poses for the camera with his new seashell earrings.

Dawn and Katie smile for their favorite niece and daughter!

Sold Van

So recently, we have gotten tired of our big & old van. We put it up for sale on Auto Trader for $4000, and someone made an offer quickly. His offer was $3500. My dad agreed to give him the van, until another man gave an offer for the full amount, $4000. There was a tough decision put on the table there. it's nothing special.
Brooke had to block out the license plate number.

And the side view.

Benjamin's Last Day of School

Benjamin's last day of first grade was today, as well as Brandon's graduation, so we're a busy family this week! Benjamin's special need's class had their end of year celebration today. We ordered pizza and ate popcorn, while we watched Tangled. The class had several cupcakes, a lot of hula-hoops, and tons of toys to enjoy. Benjamin's class made a lot of beautiful artwork last week and they all proudly showed them off today! Might I note the huge smile's on their face. Most of this class has been together for the last year, but Benjamin is new to the crew! This year has overall been wonderful, Ben love's the teachers. Benjamin will miss all of his friends, over the Summer, and will be happy to join them once again next year! I will miss little Travis and Mrs. Rhodus and Mrs. Evans, but hey it's Summer!

Benjamin is now 9 years old and so sweet! Yes, he is still extremely active and constantly trying to escape our grasp, but he is so worth it in the end of the day! If you give him a bag of popcorn, and a movie, he is set. He loves to be in the pool - he beats BrieAnna in freestyle contest! We have many kernels of popcorn laying around-- thanks to Ben. I am still stunned of how much he loves the same movies. I know this is a common obsession for down syndrome children, but he seriously loves them!!

Smile for the camera!

Blog Change-Up

So almost every 2 months, we have to change-up the blogs. Today was that day. Now we have three blogs to completly change. That's a lot of work. We have Brooke's blog, Three Girls Blog, and of course: The Hereth Bungalow Blog. We have to change the backround, the text color, the music, the main picture, the text font, etc. This takes around 2 hours. A lot of my TIME. Why did i have to be so good with computers, oh gosh. :) This is Brooke's blog, we changed almost everything.
This blog was like a remodel, everything was changed.

Only a few things were done to make this blog look fab, and this backround was actually Brooke's first backround for her own blog. Wow, huh?

So good luck when it's your day, to completly change you blog.

Jim's Birthday Dinner

Jim's birthday was recently, so we decided to celebrate by going to Bahama Breeze for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious, as well as the Pina colodas (gettin' caught in the rain). The night consisted of eating, talking, and occasionally singing some good ol' Beatles music. The Hereth Kid's gave him Letter's to Juliet, and Brooke gave him a CD with all of the Beatles #1 Hits on it. Katy gave him and earring! GROSS. Anyway, we had a fun time catching up!! 1-2-3, CHEESE! They needed some photos for their wedding blog, http://www.mywedding.com/jimdigskatie/index.html
The brought him out the famous Chocolate Island cake!
He is 54 and still acts like a 5 year old!

We missed him dearly, so YES. Happy Birthday Uncle Jimbo! Oh and did I mention he is getting married to his high school-sweetheart, Katie Groves.

Movie Night!!!!

Benjamin, as many of you know, likes watching movies. Amazing how far the apple falls from the tree. We went to Cherokee Sixteen to sit through Rango. It was horrible, but Benjamin enjoyed it.

We go to Cherokee Sixteen because they keep a clean theater, and are used to taking care of sick children that ate too much popcorn and Twizzlers. *Cough cough* Ben!

There weren't that many options anyway Dad paying for the movie: He was a happy camper!

Slacker!!

I have made this post to: Apoligize to you guys for being...a SLACKER!!!!!!! I have been so busy with Brandon's Nationals, and Brittany's tournaments! It's so crazy! I hope the next, possibly 3 posts makes up for it! Even though, you probaly won't even read this! Thanks, Dawn Hereth

Snowed-IN Fun!!!

In Woodstock, we got 5-6 inches of snow, school cancelled for a week = happy mama! We were really isolated and had to come up with fun stuff to do at home.....boring much? But we had to look at the glass half full blah blah blah :) . Here are some of our activities:::: I have to admit, the computer was a SAVIOR!!!
(she is looking at Hudson Hursts profile(: )
Brittany was trying all of the recipes that she had been trying to get to!

Brittany's club team, TCA 16-Black, needed bottles for the upcoming tournament! Brittany invited her friend over at the beginning of the week (got snowed in) and the decided to make them that week.
This was the way my car looked on the way home from the airport. GEE WIZZZ.

HAPPY SNOWED-IN DAY(s)!!!!

Clorox Strikes Again!

Saturday was a very busy day! We had lots of chores to do, and dishwashers to empty! Here is the chore list:

Blake: Pull weeds

Brett: Clean windows and porch

Bradley: Clean rooms

Brandon: Make Saturday breakfast

Brittany: Make beds, clean out refrigerator

BrieAnna: Vaccum and 1 dishwasher

Brooke: Dishwasher, clean up kitchen, straigten up living room, and clean out refrigerator.

Benjamin: Clean refrigerator, and clear the table

Mom: Clean out refrigerator, TAKE CARE OF KIDS

Dad: Mow the lawn

So as you see; ^^^^^ ; we had a lot to do. How many of these chores got done, out of the 18 chores? Only 14. Blake, Brett, and Dad didn't complete their chores! No breakfast for you!

BrieAnna's dishwasher

Mom is cleaning out the refrigerator!

The finished, still cluttered project!

Well thank you Clorox for wiping up all of the spilled drinks and foods in the refrigerator. And girls, if one day you have 6 teenagers. Your fridge will look the same! Good luck.
